SNORE APPLIANCES

Snoring is serious... Don't go another night with disrupted breathing!
Picture
Snoring is more than a disruption - it is the most common symptom of obstructive sleep apnea, a condition that causes a person to stop breathing while asleep. Sleep apnea can be very serious. It causes the muscles in your throat to relax, which can result in your tongue falling back and blocking your airway, reducing the oxygen delivered to all organs, including your heart and brain.

People with sleep apnea may snore loudly and stop breathing for short periods of time, causing their body to briefly wake without them even realizing it. This can happen hundreds of times per night, and they may wake up feeling unrested and sleepy throughout the day. Symptoms of sleep apnea include:
  • Snoring
  • Daytime tiredness
  • Memory loss
  • Headaches
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Impaired concentration (sometimes mistaken for ADD)
When left untreated, it can lead to hypertension, stroke, heart attack, and even sudden death while sleeping.
A Dental Alternative to Traditional Sleep Apnea Treatment (CPAP)

Many people have CPAP machines and either find them terribly disruptive or have given up using them altogether. Our in-house general dentists and sleep experts, have special training in sleep therapy and offer affordable oral sleep appliances to help manage your sleep disorders. Our custom oral appliances provide an open, unobstructed airway in the throat and are a more comfortable alternative to big, loud breathing machines. There are many appliances to choose from and our doctors will help fit you for the most comfortable and effective one for you. Your appliance will fit like a retainer or mouthguard and is designed to keep your tongue from falling back into your throat and support your jaw in a forward position, giving you a safe night's sleep.

A dental sleep appliance can be an alternative to a CPAP machine for patients that are diagnosed with mild to moderate apnea. An oral appliance is an option for people who are not compliant with a CPAP and are otherwise leaving their apnea untreated. An oral appliance is not a cure for sleep apnea. The appliance is available to qualified candidates at a flat fee for the entire treatment done at Dental Excellence.

Been diagnosed?
If you've had a sleep study within the last two years, our team will work with your diagnosing physician to ensure the best course of treatment for your sleep apnea.

Never been diagnosed?
Speak to your primary care provider about your symptoms today. Most hospitals now offer the option of at-home sleep studies in lieu of spending the night at the hospital. Based on the results of the study, your physician can determine if an oral appliance would be a suitable treatment option. Your physician can write a prescription for the oral appliance and we will take care of the rest!

Don't go another night with disrupted breathing. Call to schedule your complimentary consultation or use our contact form below to request more information. Our patients are thrilled. They can finally get a truly good night's sleep!

Snore appliances are available at our Sylvania and Napoleon locations.

Snore Appliance Testimonial
-Julie Z.

Julie already had a CPAP machine for her sleep apnea, but she was still extremely tired during the day and woke up with bad dry mouth from the CPAP machine's air. With the help of Dr. Augustine and his staff, she now has a custom oral appliance to treat her sleep apnea. She can use only the sleep appliance or combine the two to allow her to have a good night's sleep. She is loving the difference it has made and recommends it to anyone who has sleep apnea!

5-STAR RATING - BASED ON OVER 2,230 PATIENT REVIEWS

"I have had the Moses mouth/snore guard for a year and have never slept better. Before the Moses, I was very drowsy throughout the day. I woke up several times throughout the night. Now, I sleep through the night and feel refreshed in the morning. It is comfortable and I never take it out throughout the night. The Moses has changed my life for the better! It is worth every penny I spent on it. I highly recommend it to anyone!" - MARCIA G.
