PATIENT REVIEWS
"Helped allay my fears..." - Marcy F."From a young age, I have always been afraid of dentists. It all started when my parents brought me to an elderly dentist who didn’t use anesthesia! And then, when I was about 12 years old, he insisted on pulling 4 teeth to make a partial, when it would only have been necessary to pull one (if even THAT was necessary)! Needless to say, I still struggle going to the dentist to this day. My blood pressure is always elevated when I arrive.
Then, my husband encouraged me to try Dental Excellence in Napoleon. I was comforted by all the attempts to reduce stress—blanket, noise-canceling headphones, neck pillow, leg pillow, stress ball, etc… I chose the stress ball from the Comfort Menu. However, that day a stress ball wasn’t immediately available, so they gave me a “stress cow” instead. I must have squeezed and squeezed that cow. When I opened my clenched fist, the poor cow was broken! I had to apologize for breaking their stress cow! I have to thank Dr. Carpenter and the staff for all the work they’ve done for my smile. They’ve replaced old mercury fillings and several crowns to ensure that my smile can last for the rest of my life. But they have done more than just preserve my teeth—they have helped allay my fears and reduce my stress in a compassionate and caring way. I can’t honestly say that the stress of going to the dentist is completely gone, but I don’t think I’ll be damaging any more stress cows in the future!" |
"We will not go anywhere else..." - Miranda C."My son Jorden is 8 and had previous dental trauma from another dentist office in Toledo. He got a tooth pulled last year, and they were really rough and it was not a good experience overall. As they were pulling his tooth, he could feel the pain and he’s SCREAMING at this point….I'm crying too asking them to maybe stop because it’s not okay. They were upset with us and actually mad that Jorden was in pain. These guys were supposed to be “pediatric dentists.” Something definitely isn’t right. She said I’m already too far I’m just going to have to pull it out….so she did and that next scream was a scream that I will never forget. This caused him not to want to go back to any dentist.
Honestly, Jorden cried in the parking lot before going in to Dental Excellence. When we arrived, staff was wonderful. They were very polite, respectful, kind. Nobody huffed or puffed at us. Nobody made us feel bad for Jorden being traumatized and scared. He was really upset coming into the office. Dr. Amy sat and talked with him, explained everything that was going to happen. She treated him like a person, a child with FEELINGS. She wasn’t mad or impatient with him. She was very caring towards him, and showed empathy. Jorden was calm and collective and talked with her, and he let her look in his mouth. How you make someone feel matters, and this office is beyond wonderful. We will not go anywhere else, and my other kids will come here too when they are old enough. Please know and understand that you ALL are amazing. All of you were kind." |
"I feel like I'm visiting family..." - Lisa O."First I went to your website and read/watched all the testimonials. I then got the courage to call and made an appointment. My mouth was a mess and so embarrassing, but after arriving I felt at ease. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
My journey was a long one, but so worth it. I have a beautiful smile and more confidence. I feel like I'm visiting family every time I have an appointment. My only regret is that I didn't choose Dental Excellence earlier." |
"Never anything short of outstanding." - Krystal P."The staff at Dental Excellence goes over and beyond to ensure quality service. Not only are they professional, but the level of personal care I receive from the moment I arrive, from check in to check out, is never anything short of outstanding.
Dr. Carpenter. has been amazing! He created a plan for a full mouth reconstruction to fix my bite. After years of a horrible experience with braces and dentist, I was happy to finally have someone who seemed enthusiastic about helping me! He found the issue and immediately started treatment and got to work on my makeover. Thanks to Dr. Carpenter, I’m able to enjoy a better quality of life and I now have more confidence in my smile!" |
"I no longer dread dental appointments." - Eric W.
"At age 54 I've seen dentistry progress from "the dreaded appointment" to "an uncomfortable periodic necessity". At Dental Excellence I experienced a complete perspective shift: gone were the predictors of impending discomfort: tooth-drilling or antiseptic smell, dated posters/fliers, hard chairs in a cold waiting room. Instead I encountered a number of guest (not "patient") amenities including:
I'm certain this is just part of a thoughtfully presented first-glimpse experience. To me it demonstrated a very guest/patient-centric focus of care from the very young to the rest of us. I felt good about participating in an organization that cares to prioritize service to it's local community. All this is in addition to pleasant staff interaction at every level.
I no longer dread dental appointments. I feel as though I've joined some team dedicated to Better Dental Health and WORLD PEACE.... well at least in that direction. Bottom line is how very good it is to have discovered an organization that really, actually lives up to it's name."
- Complimentary coffee/tea (at a Dentists office???)
- Contest prizes for a program that encourages and rewards referrals
- Prominently displayed WiFi network and password ('toothbrush')
- Rotating images of beaming kids holding "Zero Cavity Club" signs
- Several posters featuring staff doing community outreach events
- Info with programs for people w/o insurance
- Comfortable seating that invites these kinds of observations

"Going to the Cadillac of dentists." - Erica G.
"I had an amazing first appointment at the office! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working at the office. Everything was explained to me very clearly. I felt that, despite the office being able to have a large patient load, the staff really took the time to make the experience feel personal. The waiting room and clinical areas are beautifully designed and very clean. I immediately went home and told my father to book an appointment. 10/10. I described my experience as "going to the Cadillac of dentists."
"Made my boys feel comfortable..." - Jessica D.
"Very welcoming, friendly and patient staff. Really made my boys feel comfortable and so happy to have a new dental team. Thank you all so much for a great experience. The second we walked out afterwards both Brandan and Ryan said I needed to go on google and give you 10 out of 10 stars!! They have never said this after any dental or health appointment. All of you really made their day amazing yesterday. We will see you soon at their next appointments."
"I feel that everyone there truly cares..." - Katie D.
"I had total mouth restoration, and I can't compliment Dr. Carpenter and his staff enough. I was made comfortable at every visit. I feel that everyone there truly cares about my health, emotional well-being, and ensuring I was happy with the services provided. 😊"
"Comfortable and at ease!" - Mary Beth R.
"I used to DREAD the dentist and in fact didn't go for nearly 27 years. But here at Dental Excellence they stress dental care/preventative maintenance, which means happier checkups and cleanings for me...I'm glad you recognize that many of us have a great fear of dentists and make sure we are comfortable and at ease!"
"High level of trust..." - Michele H.
"I was thinking the other day that of all the dentists I've been to in my adult life, I think this is the only place where I have felt this high of a level of trust regarding my care. I feel that you have my best interests in mind and not the cash flow of the practice. Thank you for that."
"Great place!" - Katie R.
"We loved being first time guests here! We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. I loved how personable they were - each person took the time to actually get to know us, our fears, what we were most worried about, how we felt and much more! They took us on a tour, explained every step, and made us feel so comfortable! Fantastic place!"
"Dental Excellence made all the difference." - Linda M.
"I never thought I would admit I enjoyed a dental visit, but switching to Dental Excellence has made all the difference. The facilities are state of the art, the staff is so friendly and the level of care you receive will make you a believer."
"You feel right at home." - Tracy G.
"From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The receptionists are very friendly and this extends throughout your visit to all of the staff, hygienists and doctors (dentists). I look forward to my check-ups and getting to catch up with everyone. No chance of getting the "dental jitters" with the personalized treatment you receive. I would highly recommend Dental Excellence."
