Michael D. Carpenter, DDS

Dentist & Owner

Dr. Michael Carpenter, Founder and Owner of Dental Excellence of Napoleon, grew up in Henry County and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1996. In 1998, he purchased a Napoleon practice to serve his neighbors and friends in Henry County and all over Northwest Ohio.

Jonathan Augustine, DDS

Dentist & Owner - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Augustine grew up in Archbold, attended Bowling Green State University and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he later served as adjunct faculty overseeing fourth year dental students. He also served as Staff Sergeant in the Air National Guard where he trained as a crew chief. We are absolutely thrilled to have Dr. Augustine on our team.

Amy Augustine, DDS, MS

Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Amy Augustine, known as Dr. Amy to her pediatric patients, is a board-certified pediatric dentist specializing in dental care for infants, toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents. In addition to years of pediatric-specific dental training, she has expertise in behavior guidance and a gift to communicate with children in an effective, gentle, and non-threatening manner.

Dr. Augustine loves working with children and finds it incredibly rewarding to watch kids change their demeanor from being scared to be at the dentist, to feeling happy and proud of themselves by the end of the appointment. She uses several methods of behavior guidance, including tell-show-do and positive reinforcement.

Vishal Patel, DDS

Pediatric Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Patel's interest in pediatric dentistry was sparked through heartwarming experiences with young patients. He realized the profound impact he could have on children's lives, and fueled his passion for pediatric dentistry. He says working with children is fun and he finds it incredibly satisfying to help them change their dental habits and overcome their fears.

Dr. Patel earned his dental degree and worked both as a lecturer and in private practice in India. He completed the rigorous and competitive dental program at the University of Western Ontario, graduating with high honors. Dr. Patel practiced in a busy family dental office in Ontario for nearly 3 years where he treated patients of all ages. Then he went on to Kansas to complete the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Program.

Ellen Justus, DDS

General Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Ellen Justus is originally from Huron, Ohio, and is the oldest of three siblings. Growing up in a family of nurses and pharmacists, she saw the value of helping people from an early age and wanted to do the same by pursuing a career in healthcare. She can recall an emergency dental situation she experienced when she was younger, and how grateful she was to the doctor who got her out of pain.

Emma Santini, DDS

General Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Santini is from West Bloomfield, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University and University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Before her career as a dentist, she was a hygiene assistant and enjoyed learning about dentistry and helping patients!​

Matthew Wurzel, DDS

General Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Wurzel loves dentistry and says it's an honor to provide service here in Henry County. He knew he wanted to be a dentist since he was young. His childhood dentist helped shape his positive outlook on dentistry and sparked his interest in the profession. He knew he wanted to help people and found dentistry to be a great avenue to fulfill that desire.

Dr. Wurzel is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine where he was a member of PSI Omega Dental Fraternity. He has spent time volunteering at underserved schools to do sealants for kids, doing Give Kids a Smile, and traveling to nursing homes to help the elderly.

Zach Ickes, DDS

Dr. Ickes is a dedicated and compassionate dentist who has been practicing for over seven years. Originally from Fostoria, Ohio, Dr. Ickes pursued his education at The Ohio State University, where he earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, graduating in 2017.

Dr. Ickes is passionate about giving back to the community. He has volunteered a day of free dentistry for veterans annually since his graduation and participated in a dental mission trip to Trinidad, reflecting his deep commitment to service and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Grace Stone, DDS

General Dentist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Grace Stone grew up on a farm in southeast Michigan, where she spent summers raising 4H animals alongside her two brothers. Her hands-on upbringing taught her the value of hard work, compassion, and community—qualities that now shape the way she cares for her patients.

Dr. Stone is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair. She loves building meaningful relationships with her patients and considers it a privilege to help them maintain healthy, happy smiles.

Mohamed Kazbour, DDS

Dr. Mohamed Kazbour was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan. After earning both his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy, he worked briefly as an accountant before discovering his true passion in dentistry.

Dr. Kazbour is passionate about making a positive impact on his patients’ health and confidence. He strives to build strong relationships with each patient and believes every smile has a story worth hearing.

Ronald Fowler, DMD

Dr. Ronald Fowler is a general dentist with advanced skills in wisdom teeth removal. His expertise gives dental practices throughout the state the opportunity to offer patients the convenience and cost savings of having wisdom teeth extractions provided right in the comfort of their family dental office. We are happy to offer his services to our patients. Dr. Fowler earned his Doctorate of MedicMD from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. He then went on to earn his GPR certificate from The Ohio State University.

Bana Anbari, DDS, MSD

Board-Certified Periodontist - Napoleon, OH

Dr. Anbari practices periodontics at Dental Excellence Periodontics in Napoleon, Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Damascus University School of Dentistry in 1998. She completed her advanced training in Periodontics and Dental Implants at the Periodontology Department at Case Western Reserve University. During her periodontal training she earned a Master Degree of Science in Dentistry.

Emily Sherer, DDS

General Dentist - Delta, OH

Dr. Emily Sherer is originally from Grand Rapids, Ohio. After practicing dentistry in New York City, she decided to return to her former roots and join Dental Excellence of Delta. She is an alumnus of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and is excited to be back in Northwest Ohio.

One of our favorite things about Dr. Emily is the joy she finds in impacting patients’ lives through dentistry. She keeps a photo of a gentleman she helped in New York who was moved to tears when he saw his new smile.

Peter Nessif, DDS

Dentist & Owner, Root Canal Therapy - Napoleon & Sylvania, OH

Dr. Peter Nessif did his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University and graduated from the College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University in 1996. After graduation, Dr. Peter joined his father Dr. Terrance Nessif's private practice and the two have been in practice together ever since.

Dr. Peter is a former president of The Toledo Dental Society, as well as an active member of The American Dental Association and The Ohio Dental Association. Dr. Peter is an associate member of the American Association of Endodontists.

David Shannon, DDS

General Dentist - Sylvania, OH

Dr. Shannon is originally from Columbus and is a fellow alumnus of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Before joining us, he practiced dentistry in Akron. He loves the dental field because he says he enjoys solving the puzzle of what treatment a patient needs to restore their oral health and getting them out of pain - especially those who come in hating dental visits and leave feeling relieved and comfortable to return.
