15 Years of Free Dentistry for Our Community
Dental care is something everyone deserves, but for many people, the cost makes it feel out of reach. When a toothache flares up or a cavity goes untreated, it is easy to put it off and hope it gets better on its own. But dental problems rarely go away without treatment. They grow. What starts as a small issue can turn into pain, infection, or bigger and more expensive problems down the road.
That is exactly why we created Smiles From The Heart, and this year, we are proud to celebrate 15 years of bringing free dental care directly to our neighbors in need.
What Is Smiles From The Heart?
Smiles From The Heart is a free dentistry event hosted each year across multiple Dental Excellence locations. Every member of our team volunteers their time to offer real, meaningful dental services at no cost to patients who need it most. There are no income requirements, no paperwork hurdles, and no judgment. Just care.
Patients who attend can choose one of the following services:
A professional dental cleaning
A tooth filling
A tooth extraction
For many people in our community, this event is the only opportunity they have to receive dental care all year. We understand that, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Why Oral Health Matters More Than You Might Think
A healthy smile is about more than appearances. Oral health is deeply connected to your overall wellness. Untreated infections in the mouth can spread. Gum disease has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic health conditions. When dental problems go ignored, the effects can reach far beyond your teeth.
That is why education is a central part of Smiles From The Heart. We want every patient who walks through our doors that day to leave not just feeling better physically, but feeling more informed and empowered to care for their oral health going forward.
How the Event Works
Registration opens at 7:45 AM at each location, and patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited number of patients to be seen that day (this varies by office). Lines often begin forming before registration opens, so if you or someone you know plans to attend, arriving early is strongly encouraged.
Once registered, each patient may choose one free service: a cleaning, a filling, or an extraction. Our team will be ready to help from the moment you walk in.
2025 Event Dates and Locations
This April, Smiles From The Heart will be hosted at four Dental Excellence locations:
April 10 in Napoleon (first 100 patients)
April 17 in Delta (first 50 patients)
April 17 in Maumee (first 30 patients)
April 24 in Sylvania (first 50 patients)
Each location will follow the same format. Registration begins at 7:45 AM, and care is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
