We consider ourselves blessed to be able to take our kids shopping for new clothes when back-to-school time rolls around, but we understand there are families right here in our community who can’t afford to do this every year. While new clothes can be fun, they are often a necessity for growing kiddos whose only option may be hand-me-downs that are mismatched or two sizes too big. This can lead to mistreatment at school, taking away from their valuable learning experience. We want the children in our community to go back to school with the confidence they need to focus on what truly matters, so our staff has come together to raise money to help families purchase new clothes! We partnered with Operation Smile to help provide surgery to children born with cleft lip or cleft palate!
For every new patient referred to our office we donated $5 to Operation Smile, a nonprofit medical missions organization that does cleft lip surgery for children around the world! Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate that often leads to torment, malnourishment and difficult speech. Operation Smile believes every child deserves safe surgical care and so do we! The cost to provide surgery for one child starts at $240. With YOUR help and a corporate matching sponsor we were able to fund smile surgery for FIVE CHILDREN! Operation Smile has brought new smiles to the faces of children in Rwanda and many other places around the world. Seven-year-old Habimana is one of them. Click on the video below to see his story. |
